2nd hand is a good idea...

I went yesterday looking for goodies in flea markets and second hand stores. I love those places - especially if they are kept in orderly chaos. I like having to lift up or move stuff to hunt for other treasures. It really makes me feel like I found something! I do not like places that have a funky odor or just stacks of junk that looks like it will crush a small child if it fell over...

I went in one store and the lady was very nice. She had a BUNCH of costume jewelry squirreled up in a display case. It was very cool to just pour over the display... but what caught my eye... was a large, empty silverware box. The wood was cherry, the velvet was red and the silk was white and I got an idea...

I have been trying to figure out how to display these large hole beads. Its been driving me crazy. This silverware box had slots or dividers that in afterthought, lined up through the middle supports and would be perfect for a small dowel rod or a very colorful chop stick that could hold the large hole beads. Each bead would be beautiful side up - supported by a hidden chop stick - to catch your eye. It is going to take some work to get that chopstick out and slip the bead off but I would be able to do it quick-like for a buyer.... Being made to hold silverware, the box could hide the silver saving strips and protect my beads.

Knowing that I am a big goob most of the time - I did not buy the box and had this epiphany after leaving the store. I am going Monday afternoon to finish the sale from the very sweet second hand market owner.... I'll post pictures when its ready.
